Ride Home From School

Aunt Liz came to pick us kids up from school in their green 53 Chevy pick up.  I don't remember if Pat was there but she had to be.  Carl was sitting next his mom and I was sitting next to Carl.  I happened to notice the pickups key in the ignition switch and the little bead chain with a peach seed carved into a indians head.  We turned off the school road going east crossing the bridge at the bottom of Caulk's hill, then the next hill, going up the Nichol's hill, Carl blurtted out "Come on Mom, let's go fast!" and at the same time stuck his foot on top of Aunt Liz's gas pedal foot and pushed it to floor.  I think I might have heard some cussing before it was all over with but we all got home safe and sound.  I can still see it in my mind in full living color.  Aunt Liz was great, us kids were all laughing, what a wonderful memory.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Charles
