Obituary for Marian Eileen Whitenack (Fowler)

Marian Eileen Whitenack, 92 of Atchison, KS, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Medicalodge of Atchison.

At Marian's request, no formal services are planned. Marian has been cremated under the direction of Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to UNICEF, the ASPCA or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.

Marian was born January 19, 1927 in Atchison, KS, the daughter of C.H. and Lela (Heater) Fowler. She married Bernard Whitenack and moved to New York. They later divorced. Marian and her daughters moved back to Atchison in 1964. She worked her whole life and held several different job positions including bank teller at The City National Bank, a clerk at The Youth Center in Atchison and The Kansas Arts Commission in Topeka before retiring from Ft Leavenworth in 1992. Marian was a member of the Cummings Christian Church. She was a wonderful, loving and devoted mother and will be sadly missed. She enjoyed spending time with her family and caring for her rescue dogs. She also enjoyed reading, shopping with her daughter and watching the KC Royals.

Survivors include her two daughters, Sharon Hall, Atchison, KS, Nancy and Cliff Gregory, Littleton, CO, a brother Charles and Laverne Fowler, Jr., Nortonville, KS, two sisters, Barbara Lively, Leavenworth KS, and Kay Domann, Lawrence, KS.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Joan Basye and Charlene Latzke.
