Obituary for Francis W. "Bill" Bennett

F.W. “Bill” Bennett, of Nephi, Utah, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 in Tulsa,OK while visiting his son.

Funeral service will be 1:30 pm on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Becker Chapel,402 3rd St. in Effingham, KS with Rev. Jerry Boaz officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Effingham, KS. Family will receive friends from 12:30pm until time of service on Saturday at the Chapel. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association or the Building Fund for First Baptist Church, Nephi, Utah and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Bill was born on September 20, 1937 in Horton, KS, the son of John M. and Susie I. (Byer) Bennett. He was a farmer for many years. He also worked as a surveyor for the US Department Agriculture before he and Janice moved to Utah to serve the Lord as missionaries. Bill was a servant of the Lord and a member of the First Baptist Church in Nephi, Utah. He loved to tinker, take things apart and scrap it. His family described him as a professional piddler. In retirement, Bill loved to work in his shop, latch hook and people watch.

Bill married Janice Carol Snyder on August 29, 1959 at the Methodist Church in Effingham, KS. She preceded him in death on September 3, 2017. Survivors include a son Bradley (Brenda) Bennett, Broken Arrow, OK, three grandchildren, Ainsley (Jesse) Hallett, Tulsa, OK, Amitey Bennett, Broken Arrow, OK and Chaney Rockwell, Youngwood, PA.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Virginia Rockwell.
